Getting here
The practice is on the second floor of 110 Abeel Street, in the Rondout District of Kingston. The Rondout is a working harbor neighborhood three-quarters of a mile downhill from the Kingston Stockade District. The building is two blocks from the Hudson River Maritime Museum and one block from the Lighthouse Park overlook.
By car. From the New York State Thruway, take Exit 19 (Kingston) and follow signs for downtown / Rondout. The most reliable route is Washington Avenue → Broadway → East Strand → Abeel Street; the practice is on the right after the bend. Street parking on Abeel Street is metered weekdays 9:00–17:00; the public lot at 35 Broadway has free parking after 17:00 and on weekends.
By bus. The Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) Route 30 (Rondout-Stockade) stops at Abeel Street and Hone two blocks west of the practice. The Trailways Adirondack Trailways Kingston bus stops at the Adams Fairacre Farms Park & Ride two miles uptown; UCAT Route 30 connects.
By Amtrak / rail. The closest Amtrak station is Rhinecliff–Kingston (RHI), four miles east across the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Lyft from RHI to the practice is typically $14–$18.
The building
110 Abeel Street is a three-story brick building constructed in 1888 as a chandlery and used as a bookbinder's shop in the 1920s. The ground floor is a cooperative furniture-maker's space; the second floor is the practice; the third floor is a private residence. The entrance is the blue door at the back of the lobby; the staircase is to the left. There is no elevator.
Accessibility. The lack of an elevator is a real limitation. Patients with mobility limitations who cannot use the staircase can be seen at the satellite room we share with HealthAlliance Hospital's primary-care annex at 396 Broadway, by arrangement; please call the front desk to schedule. We are working with the building owner on a 2027 elevator project; we will update this paragraph when the timeline is firm. The current accommodation is operational, not ideal.
Hours
After-hours phone line: 17:30–22:00 weeknights and 09:00–18:00 weekends. The on-call clinician answers; calls outside this window go to the answering service which directs life-threatening emergencies to 911 and routes non-urgent messages to the next business day. See CCH-006.
What to bring at a first visit
- A list of your current medications including dosage, supplements, and the pharmacy you use.
- The names and contact details of any specialist physicians you are currently seeing.
- A photo ID and your insurance card if you are using insurance.
- The records-release form you signed in the intake; we will request prior records on your behalf.
- Any questions you do not want us to forget.
What to expect
Maritza Polanco at the front desk will check you in. The first ten minutes will be with a medical assistant for vital signs and the structured intake-screen. You will then spend forty-five to sixty minutes with your assigned clinician. You will leave with a written summary of decisions made and the next visit on your calendar.
If you need to reschedule
Call the front desk or message through the patient portal. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice when possible. We will not bill a no-show fee for the first late-cancellation; subsequent late-cancellations within 6 months are billed at a flat $25 (we report this number publicly because we want it to feel like a documented policy, not a surprise on a statement).
Pharmacies and labs
The closest pharmacies to the office are Kingston CVS at 50 Plaza Road, Walgreens at 200 Albany Avenue, and the independent Dedrick's Pharmacy at 190 Wall Street in the Stockade District. Labs are drawn at Quest Diagnostics at 1 Crown Street (a five-minute walk from the practice) and at Labcorp at 100 Plaza Road; we send to whichever your insurance prefers.
Hospital affiliation
Our primary hospital affiliation is with HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus, two miles north at 396 Broadway. We refer to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for most obstetric care and to Albany Med for tertiary care.
